A frequent request we receive from researchers and members alike is for quick and easy demonstrations of the basic features of an ORCID record. For organizations promoting ORCID sign up, a video can demonstrate how, when, and why to create and use an ORCID iD. For researchers, it can help them understand how and why to import research works into ORCID records, or to grant another record holder access as a trusted individual to help manage a record.
Launching a series of short (30-60 second) instructional videos on these and other topics is one of our goals for this year. The videos will be accessible directly from your ORCID record and from our Knowledge Base. They’ll also available for the ORCID community to use with their own researchers.
Over the past months, we’ve been gathering suggestions for videos demonstrating key functions of the ORCID Registry. Now we need your input as we decide which to prioritize.
Vote now for the videos that are most useful to you and your community. Voting is simple: click Vote and input your email address. You’re welcome to add comments and to suggest other video topics – simply add them to the suggestion box and click enter.
Voting for the first videos in the series will close August 15, but we’ll keep the poll open to continue to get your input on upcoming videos.
