We are delighted to announce that we just added Turkish, German, and Polish languages to the ORCID Registry, infosite, and support site, bringing the total number of languages we offer to 15. Users who prefer to view their record in one of these languages have the option to do so by setting their language display preference in their account settings. On the informational site, or on the support site, you may simply select your preferred language from the drop down menu at the top right of the page
Our commitment to adding translations to all of our sites is a core part of ORCID’s value of inclusion and is how we’re working toward making our content more accessible to all our users, wherever they are. With these three new languages added, we now support 95% of the languages spoken by ORCID record holders.
Adding languages supports our vision of a world where all who participate in research, scholarship, and innovation are uniquely identified and connected to their contributions across disciplines, borders, and time. Additionally, added languages support our strategic objectives and major themes identified in our most recent strategic plan: From Vision to Value: ORCID’s 2022–2025 Strategic Plan, particularly with:
- Increasing Value to Members
- Increasing Value to Researchers
- Increasing Global Participation
In addition to language preferences, new users can also take advantage of new in-record guidance to better navigate their ORCID records. We also invite users to learn more about the translations on the ORCID infosite and knowledge base.
