We are pleased to announce two new ORCID team members: Alice Meadows is joining ORCID as our Communications Director and Douglas Wright as Membership Director, both starting in May. Alice and Doug will supported through a grant to ORCID from the Helmsley Charitable Trust.
Alice will be responsible for ORCID communications, with a remit to broaden awareness of who we are and what we do, and to support adoption and use of ORCID by the research community.
She will be in charge of our Ambassadors program, ORCID publications and social media, and our meetings calendar.

Doug will be leading the charge on building our membership, with the ultimate goal of helping ORCID to become a truly financially sustainable organization.
He will be managing a team of locally-based Regional Directors in Asia Pacific, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East and Africa.

As a new initiative, we have found that it is absolutely critical to meet with organizations to listen to their needs and discuss options for implementing ORCID. Together with our technical team, Alice and Doug will be rolling out workshops and training materials to leverage existing community collaborations and support a shared understanding of the role of persistent identifiers in successful research infrastructure projects.
Join me in welcoming Alice and Doug to ORCID! Come meet the team at the upcoming ORCID-CASRAI Outreach meeting in Barcelona, May 18-19.
