ORCID is pleased to announce Rebecca Bryant, PhD, as our Director of Community.
Starting on 1 April, Rebecca will report to the Executive Director and will be responsible for managing our Outreach plan, which in addition to our bi-annual Outreach meetings includes a number of new initiatives including launching our Ambassador Program, managing our website localization efforts, and supporting regional programs and events at research meetings.
Rebecca comes to us from over a decade of service at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she has been Assistant Dean in the Graduate College, leading a diverse set of operations, including graduate career services, postdoctoral affairs, and overseeing academic policies and processes related to doctoral degree completion. Her position involved working with Illinois’s large international student population as well as collaborating with faculty, senate committees, and administrators. In addition, she has experience defining and launching new technology initiatives including Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs).
Rebecca received bachelor’s degrees in music and chemistry from Butler University and a PhD in musicology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Please join us in welcoming Rebecca to the ORCID team! You can meet her in person at the ORCID Outreach meeting, May 23 in Oxford, UK (more on the meeting here: orcid.org/orcid-outreach-meeting-symposium-and-codefest-may-2013) and you may contact her directly.
