We have expanded the resources available to institutions integrating ORCID identifiers to better connect you with peers in the community. Check out our enhanced online resources, new user communities, and handouts on our website at orcid.org.
Online resources for organizations
Would you like to learn more about what other organizations like you are doing with ORCID? Are you looking for information relevant to your type of organization?
We’ve added new resources for publishers, funders, professional associations, and universities and research organizations. The Learn More section on each community page provides articles, presentations, blogs, and oher resources to support your integration planning. Explanatory handouts for each community are available on the Outreach Resources pages. As new integrations come on-line, we will continue to refresh these resources. Look for more resources for universities and research organizations in conjunction with our Sloan-funded Adoption and Integration Program.
These resources complement the technical resources already available in our Knowledge Base and our Integrators page.
User communities support connections and sharing
Is your organization considering integrating ORCID identifiers? Would you like to be able to communicate with peer organizations with questions about your implementation plans?
In addition to online resources, we have created four open user forums to support all current and potential integrating organizations. These forums can instantly connect you with your peers to share policies, processes, use cases, and best practices for ORCID integration.

- Funders
- Publishers
- Universities and research organizations
- Professional associations
These user forums augment the ORCID technical community mailing list and forum. Our hope is that together, these open forums will become a rich source of information, making it easier for you to connect, learn, and share.
[Edited 2016.07.11] Updated to remove reference to outdated usergroups. For those interested in discussing API integrations, ORCID maintains the ORCID API User Group
Resources to support outreach to researchers and scholars
Are you working to engage researchers at your organization with ORCID? Would you like handouts to share with researchers? Do you need print resources in languages other than English? Do you need materials for a presentation?
We have handouts, banners, and a standard slide deck available online for your use. Print out a banner and post in your building. Hand out flyers to researchers attending the conference you are organizing. Adapt slides for a presentation to researchers at your organization. Many thanks to our dedicated ORCID Ambassadors for their support with translations. Don’t see your language? Make it happen by volunteering to translate it! Please contact us at [email protected].
Researchers will also find information about creating their ORCID iD, adding and importing works, and adding affiliations information through our Knowledge Base.
Save the date!
We’re currently finalizing the program for the upcoming ORCID Outreach Meeting, to be held May 21-22, 2014 in Chicago. The spring program will feature demos from Adoption and Integration partner institutions and will particularly highlight the integration of ORCID iDs within universities and professional societies. We encourage you to subscribe to the ORCID newsletter and to follow @ORCID_Org on Twitter for the latest news.
