We are delighted to announce the program for our first Australian Outreach Meeting, to be held at ANU Commons in Canberra on February 15-16. The theme of the meeting is ORCID at Scale – timely, given the launch of the Australian national ORCID consortium at the end of the first day. We hope to see many of you there. Registration is free, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, including Queensland University of Technology, Digital Science and, of course, the Helmsley Trust – but places are limited so be sure to sign up promptly.
Our distinguished Program Committee has helped us line up a great roster of speakers and sessions, including an opening keynote panel on the conference theme, chaired by Michelle Duryea of the Australasian Research Management Society, and a closing keynote by Andrew Brown of Griffith University. Other highlights include panel discussions on Launching a Consortia, ORCID in Platforms and Services, ORCID across Sectors, and ORCID in Asia Pacific. We’ll also have updates on ORCID initiatives and developments, and numerous video and live demos of ORCID integrations in research information management systems, publishing, patent databases, association systems, and more!
Two other important events are taking place at the same time. We are holding our first virtual town hall meeting immediately before the Outreach Meeting (11am-12pm UTC), and as mentioned, the official launch of the Australian national consortium will take place at 6pm UTC on February 15.
All ORCID members are welcome to attend either – please contact [email protected] for more information or register here. Simply check the relevant boxes when you register. We look forward to welcoming you to one or more of the events at #ORCID16 in Canberra!
