ORCID’s next Outreach Meeting and Codefest will take place on November 3-4 at the San Francisco headquarters of our host and sponsor, GitHub. The theme of the meeting is Research Information Innovation: Entrepreneurs and ORCID, and we are delighted to confirm that our keynote speakers will be Kaitlin Thaney, Director of the Mozilla Science Lab and Geoffrey Bilder, Director of Strategic Initiatives at CrossRef.
With the help of our distinguished program committee, we are putting together a great program, including:
- updates on ORCID and a preview of our 2016 roadmap
- interactive sessions on collecting and storing research and researcher data; identifiers and identity management; and contributor recognition
- opportunities to meet with the ORCID technical and support teams and work with them directly on your implementation of the ORCID API
We also invite suggestions and applications for lightning demos showcasing research infrastructure products and services that leverage ORCID and other persistent identifiers. Please submit your ideas by September 30.
The meeting, and the concurrent ORCID Codefest, will run from 9.00am on Tuesday November 3 through 3.00pm on Wednesday November 4. There will be plenty of opportunities for networking, including a cocktail reception after sessions end on Tuesday.
Details of our room block at the Courtyard San Francisco Downtown (a 10-minute walk from the GitHub offices) can be found on our website.
