As Director of Communications for ORCID, Julie is responsible for setting and guiding communications strategies to ensure messaging and outreach activities consistently promote awareness of ORCID's value to all its stakeholder groups. She has spent most of her career in communications roles focused on the US National Science Foundation's geosciences community at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) and the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, CO. She manages and guides the Communications Team as they promote awareness of ORCID with their writing, content management, social media, events, outreach, and web production activities.

Julie can often be found at metal concerts, trail running (read: mostly walking), paddle boarding, kayaking, reading or working on her novel, or practicing yoga.
