As ORCID concluded the final year of our 2022–2025 strategic plan, 2025 was a period of both significant achievement and forward-looking strategy in a rapidly changing global research environment. ORCID successfully navigated these challenges by maintaining broad global participation, growing our presence in under-represented regions, and actively contributing to research integrity efforts.
Focused on making researchers’ data more manageable, ORCID launched Featured Works and introduced 13 new work types for the Arts and Humanities community. To increase value for member organizations, we expanded our Community Trust Network by improving support for publishers to add validated Editorial Service data and substantially expanding the Certified Service Provider (CSP) program.
Demonstrating our commitment to global inclusivity, ORCID welcomed 125 new organizations and launched two new consortia in Africa supported by the Global Participation Fund. We also advanced our digital defenses through our ongoing cybersecurity program.
Ending our strategic cycle in our strongest financial position ever, ORCID is now poised to move into the era of our new strategic plan, ORCID 2030: Advancing the Future of Research, with continued commitment to making research more connected, transparent, and trustworthy.
