At ORCID, we believe that the global challenge of upholding research integrity is one that requires community-driven solutions. Join us for this provocative webinar series where we invite thought leaders and experts in research, cyber security, and more to share their insights about trends and emerging solutions.
The integrity of the scholarly record depends on the accuracy of the data that supports it. For research institutions and libraries, incomplete or incorrect metadata creates a “visibility gap,” making it difficult to accurately track faculty output, prove grant compliance, and manage Open Access agreements. This session focuses on how institutions can take a leading role in the “upstream” movement by ensuring that high-quality, PID-enriched data is captured at the point of grant application and internal reporting, long before a manuscript reaches a journal.
In this session, Research Integrity: Best Practices for High-Quality Metadata, we will examine real-world institutional successes in metadata management and the role of the OA Switchboard in simplifying data exchange. We’ll discuss how strengthening your internal metadata systems can reduce the administrative burden on researchers and provide a more transparent view of your institution’s global impact. To see how this data is handled once it leaves your hands, we also invite you to join our May 19th session dedicated to publisher-side metadata best practices.
Though we face significant challenges to uphold research integrity, we remain optimistic that by working together, our community can make meaningful and lasting progress towards a world where all who participate in research, scholarship, and innovation are uniquely — and reliably — identified and connected to their contributions across disciplines, borders, and time. Register for this session to be a part of community solutions for global challenges.
