This webinar explores how ORCID connects and protects scholarly work and career activities. The social sciences and humanities (SSH) rely on a diverse range of research outputs, in many cases non-traditional, which can make tracking research impact challenging.

This session demonstrates how a unique ORCID iD ensures work is accurately tracked across different countries and platforms, giving SSH scholarship maximum global visibility.

What We’ll Cover

The presentation focuses heavily on ORCID trust markers (validated pieces of data added directly to records by universities, research institutions, publishers, and funders, among others).

  • For Researchers: These trust markers act as an official stamp of approval, automating credit for all contributions.
  • For Institutions: ORCID serves as an interoperable data standard that integrates seamlessly with internal repositories and current research information systems (CRIS). It authenticates affiliation histories and significantly alleviates administrative reporting burdens.

By facilitating verified data exchange among universities, funders, and publishers, ORCID fortifies institutional research integrity.
