Crossref, ORCID, and the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine invite you to this webinar that will address the importance of using ORCID iDs and Crossref DOIs to ensure that researchers and their contributions are uniquely identified, connected, and discoverable. The session will also discuss how institutions can benefit from ORCID and Crossref open tools to improve research infrastructure in Ukraine. There will be a preview of the Ukrainian Research Information System (URIS) prototype – developed by the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine and other examples of national research hubs that integrate persistent identifiers.

Speakers: Rachael Lammey (Crossref), Gabriela Mejias (ORCID), Sabina Augunas, Serhii Zharinov, Nataliia Kaliuzhna & Serhii Nazarovets (State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine)

Agenda:

Introduction and agenda (3 min)

Benefits of ORCID for individuals and institutions (15 min)

Benefits of Crossref DOIs and open metadata (15 min)

Role of Persistent Identifiers in the Research Information Management System: findings from a national survey in Ukraine (7 min)

URIS and national research hubs based on PIDs (7 min)

Q&A (12 min)

The session will be conducted in English and Ukrainian and recorded (presentations and recording will be shared afterwards with all registrants). There will be plenty of time for discussion. Please feel free to share this invitation.
