ORCID membership is intended for those organizations that need to query and retrieve data, update or add new record data, and require authenticated production-level integration. Use cases include but are not limited to creating ORCID records on behalf of employees or affiliates; integrating authenticated ORCIDs into manuscript submission, peer review systems, or grant application processes; and consuming ORCID data to maintain internal systems such as institutional repositories.
